Conceptual Portrait Photography in Victoria, BC.
For those who want
more than a photo
Through movement, transformation, and visual storytelling, I create portraits that feel personal, expressive, and alive.

Who It’s For?
For those who want to be seen beyond the surface.
This work is for dancers, artists, and expressive people who want more than a standard portrait.
For those moving through change, exploring identity, or carrying a story that doesn’t fit into words alone.
It’s for the ones who feel deeply, think visually, and want to create something intentional.
Not just a photo of themselves — but an image that feels like them.
Whether you come with a fully formed concept or just a feeling you want to explore, this is a space to translate your inner world into something visible.
What Is a Conceptual Portrait Anyway?
It’s more than a portrait — it’s a visual story.
Conceptual sessions are shaped by emotion, movement, symbolism, and collaboration to create images that feel personal, expressive, and deeply intentional.

Hi, I’M Kitty
your transformation witness
I’m a conceptual portrait photographer in Victoria, BC, creating images shaped by movement and transformation.
The Experience
A conceptual portrait session is more than showing up and taking photos.
It’s a creative process built around your story, your movement, and the feeling you want to explore.
Some people come with a clear vision.
Others arrive with only a mood, a question, or a season of life they want to honor.
Wherever you begin, I help shape that into something visual, personal, and intentional.
My role is not just to photograph you, but to listen, guide, and translate what lives inside you into images that feel honest and alive.
How it unfolds
1. We begin with
the idea

Every session starts with a conversation. We talk about what you’re drawn to — a feeling, a theme, a transition, a visual idea, or simply the way you want to be seen.
2. We shape the concept together

From there, I develop the creative direction through mood, styling, movement, location, and symbolism. Some concepts are minimal. Some are layered and cinematic. The goal is always the same: to create something that feels true to you.
3. We create with intention

During the shoot, I guide you through the process in a way that feels grounded and collaborative. You don’t need to know how to pose or perform — I’ll help direct movement, expression, and energy so the session feels natural and embodied.
4. You receive images that hold meaning

The final conceptual portrait photography sessions are not just documentation of how you looked, but a reflection of what you were expressing, becoming, or carrying in that moment.

Frankie
I’ve been part of a few drag and burlesque shows where Kitty was the photographer, and I always loved the shots she captured. Her eye for detail and the way she brings out the energy of a moment is incredible. When I heard she was doing a 7 Deadly Sins series, I checked out the work and was blown away by how beautiful and creative it all was.
I reached out with the idea of doing a darker take on one of the sins, and she immediately connected with the concept. From that moment on, everything came together so smoothly—boom, we made it happen!
I also really appreciated the flexible payment options. As someone who lives paycheck to paycheck, having that accessibility made a huge difference and shows how thoughtful and considerate she is.
Most importantly, Kitty made me feel completely safe and comfortable, even when I wasn’t sure what I was doing. She brings warmth, professionalism, and genuine support to every moment of the shoot.
Thank you, Kitty! I absolutely love the results, and I can’t wait to work with you again soon.

I have shot with a lot of photographers and continuously most of my favourite images of myself are ones that Kitty has taken. Whether she is capturing movement in a live performance or doing posed shots, she excells at angles, lighting, posing, everything. Kitty also does a great job of making her subject feel comfortable and heard and is amazingly fast at returning edits. Very much recommended.
